In
this, our second newsletter covering the last quarter of 2001,
(can you believe it?) we have some important announcements to
make. However, first of all before we get down to business, we'd
like to wish everyone a fantastic fall holiday season.
HALLOWEEN MINI CARNIVAL
You and your children are
invited to a mini Halloween Carnival at the Bledsoe's (6752)
driveway on October 31st, after dark - Stop over for spooky
refreshments for weary trick-or-treaters, get your fortune told,
play a few games, bob for apples, check out the kids' costumes and
chat with your neighbors! Hope to see you there!
ANNUAL MEETING SCHEDULED
The
PPHOA annual meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 12,
2001. The meeting will be held at the Church at the back of our
subdivision (as usual) at 7 p.m. You will be receiving your proxy,
budget and other various documents in a packet within the next
couple of weeks. Please make sure that you mail your proxy back in
the provided envelope EVEN IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND! We will give you
back your proxy if you do attend (that's a promise). If you do not send in your proxy
and we do not achieve a quorum, then we cannot have a valid
meeting. But in reality, since your trusty board members can't let
that happen, we will have to get out our list, divvy it up (is
that a word?) and call or visit and possibly beg (well just a
little) and whine amongst ourselves about who has more people
that aren't cooperating (just kidding, we work like a finely tuned
machine)...and well, you get the picture...so please just send in
your proxy! Thanking you in advance!
NEED NEW BOARD MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER
We'd
like to thank everyone who attended last year's annual meeting. We
had a very productive and relatively well attended function.
Unfortunately, Tim Malszycki, who has served as the PPHOA
president for the last 3 years does not intend to remain for
another year. This will leave us short by at least 1 member, but
we have room for more. So,
please be thinking this over. Remember, if we all take a turn at
serving our community it will be easier on everyone. It doesn't
take that much time, if we have more involvement.
LAMP POST BRIGADE
We now have what is auspiciously known as the Lamp Post Brigade.
(Right about now you're asking yourself..."what is a lamp post
brigade?"). The Lamp Post Brigade is a wonderful band of gentlemen
in our neighborhood who have agreed to be in charge of the
maintenance of lamp posts in their vicinity. Commander of this
brigade is Tim Malszycki. He will continue to be in charge of the
brigade indefinitely. Below you will find the list of brigade
members. If you see a bulb out or notice a problem, please contact
the person that is closest to the proximity of the lamp post in
question.
